The Kulka Group is proud to announce that our CEO, Devin Kulka, has been officially installed as Secretary of the Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI), one of the region’s most influential trade organizations representing builders, developers, and professionals across the construction and real estate industry. The installation ceremony took place on Wednesday, led by Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, and was attended by fellow LIBI members, industry leaders, and regional dignitaries.
This milestone marks a significant step forward not only in Devin’s professional journey, but in our company’s commitment to shaping the future of development on Long Island.
“This is one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Devin. “LIBI has been a cornerstone in my growth as a developer, entrepreneur, and advocate. To be entrusted with a leadership role in an organization that has done so much for me—and for our entire industry—is deeply meaningful. I’m excited to give back, to serve alongside such an accomplished team of officers, and to continue the important work of advocating for responsible growth and opportunity across Long Island.”
What the Role Means
As Secretary, Devin will help guide the strategic direction of LIBI during a time of significant challenges and opportunities for the building industry.
This position is a testament to Devin’s leadership and his deep involvement with LIBI, where he has spent years actively participating in advocacy efforts, community outreach, and membership development.
A Strong Team for a Critical Moment
Devin joins a highly respected group of officers who will lead LIBI through the 2025 term and beyond:
Martin Dettling, President
Anthony Bartone, Vice President
Jon Weiss, Treasurer
Beth Howard Price, Past President
Ken Abrami, LEED AP, Executive Officer
Vincent Calvosa, Board Member
Together, this leadership team represents a wide range of experience, from homebuilding and multifamily development to energy efficiency, planning, and policy.
“We are at a pivotal moment for the building industry on Long Island,” Devin added. “We face a historic housing shortage, rising development costs, and growing pressure from overregulation. LIBI plays a vital role in educating the public, working with municipalities, and helping our members adapt and thrive. It’s more important than ever that our voices are united and strong.”
A Legacy of Leadership and Advocacy
Founded in 1941, LIBI has grown into the largest residential and commercial building trade association in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. It represents hundreds of companies and thousands of professionals who are shaping the built environment of Long Island. From influencing policy in Albany to hosting member education events and advocating for sustainable, inclusive development, LIBI is a powerful force in the industry—and a vital platform for addressing the region’s most pressing challenges.
At The Kulka Group, we have always valued LIBI not just as a trade association, but as a community of professionals committed to improving the places we call home. Devin’s appointment as Secretary is a continuation of our belief in active leadership, civic engagement, and the importance of giving back to the industry that has given us so much.
Looking Ahead
We look forward to supporting Devin as he steps into this important role and continues to advocate for a stronger, more vibrant future for Long Island. His passion for progress, innovation, and collaboration mirrors the core values of The Kulka Group — and we couldn’t be more proud to see those values recognized on a regional stage.
Congratulations to Devin and to the entire incoming LIBI leadership team. We’re excited for what’s ahead.
